Miss Cavanagh erected the two-storey brick warehousein 1904. The architect was J. Edmund Burke and the builder F. B. Sewell of Stanley Street, Elsternwick. The three bay facade is articulated by giant stylised brick piers supporting a flat entablature. The bays formed by these piers are almost fully glazed and are crowned by recessed arches. The former warehouse, completed in 1889 for L Stevenson and Sons, softgoods merchants and warehousemen, is the only known surviving building constructed by this pioneering firm.
